Answer: First, credit consolidation is a loan and we don't loan money, we want to keep you out of debt. However settlement does combine all your debts into one low monthly payment.
Credit card counseling is a bit like a financial doctor. They sit down with you and do a thorough physical on your finances they will shut down your entire line of credit. They also report your activity to the credit bureaus (settlement does not). You also sign a legal accordance stating that you will not open additional lines of credit. Our program is a voluntary program, the only account you can't use are the ones you enrolled.
